Introducing... Seréna Yannai de Groot

Today, early in the morning at 0.41 a.m. little Seréna Yannai was born, a beautiful little girl and my first granddaughter! We went to visit this afternoon and were able to hold her, hear her little voice, watch her sleep and even look into her eyes and see her smile! Mother is doing well although very tired and the new Father is so proud of his little girl.

So, here I am with her at last. She weighed in at 3,7 kilos and is healthy and well... serene!

All praise be to God for His Blessings, giving us a little girl to cherish and to pray for!

Share and a Baby card

Life has taken me away from Crafting for a while and I am still waiting for my granddaughter to arrive! Vivian had her parents over from Holland for a week, hoping that the baby would be born but sadly they had to return home today and a lot of tears were shed. I know all too well what it is like to have family far away as the choices to follow the Lord, where ever he leads, have been stronger.
Yesterday I had my third annual check-up and received a clean bill of health. Even the Oncologist said that I had an excellent report. I give all the thanks and the praise to God who has blessed me so abundantly and in so many ways, I could never count them!
A while ago I was going through a rough patch, well me and DH were, but not with each other, just in our circumstances. I believe it was ordained of the Lord to teach us in an error especially I was very weak in - and that is leaning on people instead of relying totally on the Lord. Without going into detail it was pure grace that God spoke to me at the beginning of it, although one still has to go through it, from Psalm 62. I tell you, one verse just sprung off the page deep into my spirit:

Ps.62:7 - On God rests my deliverance and my honor;

Not on other people, not in or of myself, not on my husband, but ON GOD!  Whatever anybody might say or do to you, realize that it is not on them but on God that your deliverance and your honor rests!
Of course we have to trust people, that is very important in life, but in those times when it is a matter of going forward or giving in to bitterness or unforgiveness - choose to trust in Him above man. If you read how David wrote Psalm 62 then he certainly learned this lesson too. He met people who 'blessed with their mouths, but inwardly they cursed him' - as Ps.62:4b says and that is so true. Even those we tend to put on thrones and look up too he says of in verse 9 'Men of low estate are but a breath, men of high estate are a delusion, in the balances they go up ; they are lighter than a breath'.  And lest I judge, I would not want to count on myself either to be trusted in by others!

I wanted to share the card I made for Joël and Vivian (I know she doesn't follow my blog). I am hoping the baby will arrive soon so that the joy will replace the sorrow!

I cut out the dress from a doily and added some little stick on pearls. It doesn't have to be difficult, just simple and to the point!

Wine Label winners

Just showing you another wine label which will be part of the package, which I did not show on my last post. If you like you can download this one, but it will be nothing like the original.

And this is what I made with it:

Have a lovely week - for me it will be a busy one, but hope to see you all soon!

Recycling and a Wine Label give-away

Hi to all. Today I am Guest Designer for the monthly challenge with the theme 'Scraplings and Tags - with a recycled item' on Virginia's View Challenge Blog! So thrilled that Virginia asked me. If you would like to partake in this Challenge, please visit this link - the more the merrier! Thank you, Virginia, I hope that lots of ladies will get involved and use all those items that usually get thrown away - please read Virginia's list of things that can be recycled!

and just one more which I did yesterday, using a piece of Washi tape and pink raffia.

These are my Scraplings and Tags. You can read how I made them on VV Blog.

Now for a give away - yes French Wine Labels. My lovely son came home with another box full and these are different to the ones I have used before. Here they are:

To give you an idea what you can make with them, I have made three cards. By the way, this would also fit into the above Challenge of recycling.

I have given each label a number which corresponds with the card. This is Nr. 1

Very simple, just used a strip of patterned paper and stamped a Butterfly from a distressed scrap.

This is Nr.2

Stamped a daisy in Orange on the white parts. Stamped the Friends definition over the top and added a Butterfly and scrap of paper.

This is Nr. 3

Lastly, I made a Wedding Card with the Paper Players theme this week in mind. The link can be found here. Another lovely Challenge Blog with the theme of Weddings.

So, would you like to have a play with some wine-labels?? They are all new, haven't been taken off a bottle - just left overs from years gone by.
Show me you are interested in the comment section with a valid way of contacting you in five days time. Yes, I am only giving five days.... I will send two (or three) people at least 10 labels each and some extra, which I haven't shown above. They are wonderful canvasses to play with, quality paper and I can think of so many ways to recycle them!

Bouquet

Hope that you are having a lovely Sunday. Here the weather is beautiful! We have been visiting lots of Flea Markets in the nearby villages in the weekends. Our sons and daughter-in-laws have been with us as it makes for a lovely time out together. We found lots of beautiful baby clothes for Vivian, who is still walking around with a huge tummy! I found some cheap music books which I make envelopes with, in the size I want them (with a template from Hero Arts). We have found great fishing nets, Picture frames, mason jars, lamps etc. for very little money and thats the whole sport of it! But, as soon as we get home my new Craft room gets hijacked by the girls..

Today I wanted to share a card I made with another bouquet. I wanted to give it another go and used all the small stamps that accompany the sentiment set called 'Find Joy' from Hero Arts. Here's what the set looks like and I used the leaves and the flowers and one of the sentiments.

The vase is from the Clear design: Mix and Match, also from Hero Arts.
